  • Dr. Gordon holds multiple medical patents on devices designed to correct pediatric facial deformities using minimally invasive techniques, for harvesting adult stem cells and for aesthetic surgery.
  • Dr. Gordon’s current research focuses on using gene chip technology to identify novel genetic pathways in rapid bone distraction, and he and his collaborators recently discovered a new craniofacial syndrome, demonstrating a mutation in the promoter of a key developmental gene. From this project, they identified unique polymorphisms present in most human craniofacial genes that may explain recent human evolution in individual appearance, intelligence, and susceptibility to several degenerative diseases. These findings have been submitted to the journal Nature Genetics.
